Magic (Homing) Missle & Spinning Pussy Cat Maneuver

Wizards have today release another errata which can be found at http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/UpdateJuly2010.pdf.
Whilst I haven't been through it thorourghly yet I did two things ddd stand out
1 -Spinning Leopard Maneuver has had the damage reduced to 2d6 + dex mod. The rest of the text remains the same.
2 - Magic Missle now hits automatically. The attack and hit entires have been removed and replace by an effect entry (below).
However the amount of damage that it deals has been reduced (was 2d4 + Intelligence mod for heroic tier). As there there is no attack roll you cannot get a critical hit so you will never get to apply crit dice from magic implements.
The implement keyword is still there so you will continue to add a magic implements modifier to the damage.
It can still be used as a ranged basic attack, so for any budding Leaders that can grant their allies basic attacks, look to the wizard for guarenteed damage.
Effect: 2 + Intelligence modifier force damage. Level 11: 3 + Intelligence modifier force damage. Level 21 5 + Intelligence modifier force damage.

Magic Missle is now worth
jamie — Thu, 08/07/2010 - 08:29Magic Missle is now worth taking for every Wizard.
Wizard Fury
Keotau — Fri, 09/07/2010 - 11:38And if you take the level 1 daily power Wizards Fury from Dragon Magazine 374 you will be able to coast Magic Missile once per turn as a minor action rather than a standard until the end of the encounter. SWEEEEET!
Cool combination!
ArialBlack — Fri, 09/07/2010 - 15:51I'm building a Wizard for the paragon campaign and I was going to take Magic Missile but the re-write put me off. Don't get me wrong; it's great now, it's just that I took lots of bonuses to my damage rolls and since there are no longer any damage rolls for Magic Missile they would have been wasted.
