Paragon Campaign - Intro Game 1
adam — Tue, 06/07/2010 - 15:55
"The days you've been below ground have begun to take their toll, your supplies are running low, the ompressive heat and narrow passages are starting to drive you steady, and the constant dripping noise in your ears has steadily grown into an overwhelming torrent of noise.
The prey you had been tracking, troglodytes, have definitely come this way recently, the dark grey scales, scrapped off in what appears to have been a rushed exodus from the camp you found 2 nights ago. If something has such dangerous inhabitants of the Underdark spooked, then it can't be good.
Your scout signals that through the small opening ahead, there is fresh, cool air. You crawl through the fallen rocks one at a time, and enter into a vast cavern. On the distant cliff face, you can see the troglodytes bashing away at the rocks, seemingly trying to build some kind of structure. In the centre of the cavern is a stream, through in place of the stgnant, putrid green water you would expect to see, there is a swift flowing water, which visibly grows in the minutes you take to observe your enemy."
The first intro game for the paragon campaign.
Note, you can either play in this intro game, or the second, but not both.

Spiked chain?
ArialBlack — Wed, 14/07/2010 - 00:12I don't know much about the spiked chain in 4th ed, or about any special talent Shadar-Kai have with this weapon. Maybe there is something in your equipment that can be used as a spiked chain, or maybe my old age has finally caught up with my eyesight, but I can't see a spiked chain on your equipment list.
Do you have a subtle plan? Can you pull one from your backside? If you could I'd give you a free Intimidate check right there!
lol, sadly no...but that
Arken — Wed, 14/07/2010 - 08:53lol, sadly no...but that would make for an amusing bluff check, see if you can convince the mob your fighting that you are pulling the chain from your butt and not the conveniently located bag of holding, for additional intimidation potential.
Basicallly part of Niku's backstory explaining why he is on this plain and not in the shadowfell is that he woke up in a cave with absolutely nothing and has been trying to find a way home, realising he needs money he has been adventuring and working as a Merc to raise the cash. Thus he has picked up other weapons, but he was originally trained with a spiked chain thus why its the level 1 ability. I realise this weakens my char though...but meh it makes for better roleplay.
I am ALL about the good roleplay!
ArialBlack — Wed, 14/07/2010 - 13:28For example, Sister Sanction looks like she's fighting in her underwear. Heaven KNOWS where she hides that longsword! I'M not asking her!
Thank goodness for the Deep-Pocket Cloak!
